Marlee Scott
Marlee Scott (born January 1, 1986 in Richmond Hill, Ontario) is a country music singer/songwriter who now resides in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2004, Scott was the winner of Corus Entertainment’s Rising Country Superstar Challenge, which led to a record deal with 306 Records and the release of her first album, Souvenir, in 2005. That album saw four singles released to country radio, and her video for “I Fall in Love Too Fast” received airplay on CMT.

Scott signed a new management deal with Big Ride Management in February 2008. Big Ride Management is headed by Gerry Leiske, who previously managed Emerson Drive, and is based in Nashville, Tennessee. She released a new, self-titled album in November 2008, on independent record label Big Ride Entertainment.

Born in Aylmer, Quebec, Charlie Major knew he wanted to be a musician since he was 19 years old. He was blinded in one eye as a result of a pellet gun accident when he was 12. He spent 15 years traveling as far as Spain writing songs and putting country bands together, which eventually led to a record deal with Arista Records. Major released his debut album in Canada, The Other Side, in 1993. All six singles released from the album went to #1 on the RPM Country chart.

Through the 1990s, he won the Juno Award as Country Male Vocalist of the Year for two years in a row (Juno Awards in 1994 and 1995). Five major Canadian Country Music Awards followed, along with songwriting honours from SOCAN, and a BMI Award in 1993 for “Backroads”, recorded by Ricky Van Shelton in 1991 on his Backroads album, as the “Most Performed Song in America.” In 2006 he made an appearance on the television show “Holmes on Homes.”

Jake’s self-titled debut CD (Jake Mathews) garnered six nationally charted hits: “I’ll Do You One Better,” “Try Again Tomorrow,” “That’s How Long,” “Rush,” “I’m Gone” and “There Ain’t No Such Thing.”

His second CD, Time After Time, released in 2004, was voted Best Album by Country Music News. Singles released from the album include the title track, “Signs of You Everywhere,” “Kings For A Day” and “Arizona On My Mind.”

Although he is the younger brother of Gil Grand, he has established a music career in his own right. In 2006, Jake and Gil joined forces for “Raise the Roof,” a tour that took them from B.C. to Ontario, raising awareness of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Early on, the band found minor success in Canada, releasing two albums under the name of 12 Gauge, the first Open Season was a product of winning a local “Battle of the Bands” contest. They then charted two singles on the Canadian country charts and a music video on CMT. By 1999, they changed the name to Emerson Drive, and had moved to Nashville, Tennessee to find a major label record deal. Emerson Drive recorded two albums on the DreamWorks Records label, and charted several hits on both the U.S. and Canadian country music charts. After DreamWorks’ collapse in 2005, Emerson Drive signed to Midas Records Nashville, where they resumed their streak of hit singles, including their first Number One single in “Moments”. In summer 2008, Midas Records closed their country division. Emerson Drive then signed with The Valory Music Co. and the CD which Emerson Drive had been working on, Believe, became a co-partnership with Midas Records, who kept ownership of the CD while The Valory Music Co. was in charge of promotion and distribution of Emerson Drive and Believe.
